In January 2009 I employed Griffiths and Isaac Construction Ltd to do some work namely remove a chimney, recover with felt, roofing batten and matching slate. They also fixed 4 new slate vents to the roof. During the recent stormy weather during April 2012 a ridge tile fell from the roof damaging the gutter and narrowly missing my car and myself. Having made a claim to SAGA Insurance I was visited by a surveyor from Imperial Consultants to assess the damage. This gentleman informed me that I was not covered by my insurance as the ridge tile was not adhered correctly to the roof and if it had been it would not have come off. I rang Griffiths and Isaac and spoke to Paul Isaac. He insisted that the tile was cemented properly. They were also not prepared to come and replace the ridge tile even for payment, as they were too busy elsewhere. I also mentioned that on a separate occasion all of the four roof vents had become loose and one had actually fallen out. This was remedied at the time by another roofing firm. I feel that Griffiths and Isaac have paid scant regard to my request to replace my ridge tile, especially as the last sarcastic words from Paul Isaac were "Have a nice day”. Will I use them again? - No. Would I recommend them? ??" No. Please make up you own mind about this firm - there are more customer focussed ones out there.
