I went to Provincial to request a quote for some work to be done on my car. The garage's initial response was pretty good when I called in but when they called me back to tell me about the price (£400), it became apparent from the guy's attitude that he didn't really want the work as it was too much hassle due to the nature of the work and the car (it wasn't the most straightforward job basically). He explained that my particular car (Renault Clio Sport) was basically a pain to work with and that garages didn't want to deal with them because of the time required to work on them, despite the fact that I was going to be charged an hourly rate to complete the work which was going to take about 3 hours. The guy even suggested that the job might cost me even more because it was a "while since he'd done one of these" and so it might take him longer! I find it interesting that a garage expects the customer to pay for their lack of experience and incompetence. Clearly for this particular mechanic, my request fell in to the 'too difficult to do tray' as his attention span obviously does not extend to 3 hours. Considering there was only one mechanic in the garage and no work actually being done at the time I went round, I can only assume that this garage doesn't actually have any customers as it's lost them due to its poor service and bad attitude. I'll vote with my feet and never go to this particular garage again and I suggest you do the same.
